International Relations

Mission

Study of International Relations is of utmost importance in the present globalized world. The graduates need to be aware of their surroundings and systems working at international level. Study of international relations will enable the graduates to understand the dynamics of global politics and political relations. This new department will enable its graduates to become more efficient and productive in international interactions and correspondences.

Vision

1. To groom the character of the students to make them productive citizens of society.
2. To prepare students with a perspective of nationalism and patriotism so that they can withhold against the onslaught of global propaganda schemes.
3. To equip graduates with essential tools and techniques of research. It will enable them to analyze any given situation / issue and to suggest possible solutions in the globalized world.
4. To produce graduates who are empowered to establish and develop a strong link between theory and practice while establishing and maintaining international relations.
5. To create cohesiveness among the institutions and personnel in foreign offices; for betterment of the society and country.

Society

The newly emerged departmental society, “Ravians Diplomacy Society”, grants a great deal in the aspect of engaging and informing students of GCU Lahore about the international affairs. The office bearers of the society include:

Admission Process

The candidates will have to follow the following steps for admission in the department.

1. Candidates will apply through online portal.
2. All the applicants will appear in a written test (Objective part and Subjective part).
  • Pakistan Studies (Intermediate Level)
  • Current Affairs
  • Pakistan Affairs
  • Logical Reasoning
  • English Language (Grammar and expression)
3. Successful candidates will be called for interview (50% pass marks)
4. Merit will be calculated on the basis of following criterion
  • Matriculation marks (10%) weightage
  • Intermediate marks (first year) (40% weightage)
  • Written test 30% weightage
  • Interview 20% weightage
