In order to support and strengthen high quality higher education and research, GCU recognizes and emphasizes the role of information technology in higher education and research. GCU IT infrastructure includes campus network connectivity (via fiber, UTP and Smart University Wi-Fi), computer labs that allow faculty / students to easily access the Internet, and a digital library (e-books, e-journals, etc.).
In the history of GC University, Vice Chancellor has taken a decision to set up an IT directorate (DIT) in 2020. The main objective of the directorate is to provide all the technical support to the university and its staff departments. It is working to provide, maintain and manage the IT infrastructure of the entire university.
Directorate IT works quickly and efficiently to meet all technological requirements and facilitate the innovative use of technology to support learning and creative endeavor.
One of the main goals is to make it easier for all departments to have both their computer and information
technology related education and training activities. It has become an imperative for the university to
create an environment in which faculty and students can communicate and collaborate using modern
technologies.
DIT focuses on deep technology knowledge, technical problem solving, interpersonal skills, leadership,
communication, personal health and well-being to create a transformative technology environment for
students, faculty and staff.
