Biography

Dr. Ali Fayyaz Munir is an accomplished academic and finance researcher currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Government College University (GCU), Lahore. He holds a PhD in Business Administration (Finance, Banking, Insurance) from the University of Malaya, where his doctoral work focused on contrarian returns in Asian emerging markets. His areas of expertise include asset pricing, behavioral finance, investment and portfolio management, capital markets, banking regulation and performance.

Dr. Munir has demonstrated strong academic excellence throughout his career, completing both his MS Finance (CGPA 3.96) and MBA Finance (CGPA 3.84) with distinction from the University of Central Punjab. He has also earned the prestigious Junior Associateship of the Institute of Bankers Pakistan (JAIBP) with specialization in Islamic Finance, reflecting his professional competence in the banking sector.

With over a decade of teaching and research experience, he has taught a wide range of Finance and Accounting courses. Dr. Munir has an active research profile with publications in international and national journals. He has contributed to international research grants in areas including stock market manipulation using artificial intelligence, Role of banking regulations in promoting efficiency, property sector risks, and Financial market liberalization in Asian economies. He has also served as a reviewer for reputable journals and participated in global conferences.
