spanning a whole month to school and college
students on the theme of Leadership and Civic Education for different

Department of Political Science, GCU, Lahore has established a Centre of Excellence for China Studies in collaboration
with Higher Education Department covering a wide range of subjects of
interest and intensive research to increase awareness about Chinese
Language, socio-cultural, economic, and political system. Centre of
Excellence for China Studies offers a certificate in Chinese Language and a
diploma in China Studies.

University actively engages in events to promote the Culture of Book Reading through webinars and on-campus events to encourage the youth to develop the habit of book reading in them. The university, in collaboration with its GCU Library Society and GCU Book Club conducted such webinars during COVID-19 pandemic to promote the youth to avail the opportunity of book reading during lockdowns.
The university conducts beyond campus educational and awareness activities
through its own platform and the student societies on regular basis. The
cabinet members of Environment Protection Society, GC University, Lahore
came forward to launch a COVID-19 awareness campaign. In this difficult
time, from President to juniors, all members did their best to serve the

Environment Protection Society (EPS) & Sustainable Development Study
Centre (SDSC), Government College University, Lahore in collaboration with
Primary and Secondary Heath Care Department, Govt. of Punjab, organized an
awareness seminar followed by an awareness walk on “Prevention of Smog”.
This initiative has been taken to raise awareness regarding prevention and
control of smog.
