Government College University Lahore organised a Kashmir seminar and an awareness walk under the auspices of its Kashmir Society to highlight the Kashmir issue and create awareness among students.

The seminar was addressed by Prof. Dr. Fouzia Ghani, Chairperson, Department of Political Science; Dr. Ahmad Raza Khan, In-charge, Department of International Relations; Prof. Dr. Khawaja Zahid Aziz; and Air Vice Marshal (Retd) Anwar Mahmood Khan. Speakers discussed the historical, political and international dimensions of the issue and urged students to play an informed role in raising awareness at national and global forums.

Also present were Prof. Dr. Faiza Sharif, Director, Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialisation (ORIC); Dr. Shahzad Ahmed, Controller of Examinations; and Muhammad Naeem, Chief Librarian.

Students also presented solidarity-themed poems. The programme concluded with a one-minute silence to pay tribute to Kashmir’s martyrs, followed by an awareness walk expressing solidarity with the Kashmiri people.
