Government College University (GCU) Lahore has announced week-long Basant celebrations under “Basant Bahar Fest 2026”, featuring a series of organised cultural and student activities on campus.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Omer Chaudhry welcomed the revival of Basant after years. He said it was now the shared responsibility of all stakeholders to make Basant safe so future generations could also celebrate it, adding that GCU was taking a leading role by hosting different events.
“The fest would showcase student creativity through mural art, live painting and performances, alongside a food fest and on-campus activities,” the vice chancellor said.
Events planned include drama, mural painting, a food fest, a photo booth, a kite-making workshop, live painting, a poster competition, a musical evening and live performances. Activities will be held at the Amphitheater, Salam Hall and the Oval Ground.
