Mr. Ali Raza Siddiqi, a second-year LLB student at Government College University (GCU) Lahore, has been selected for the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations (HPAIR) 2026, an international policy forum hosted at Harvard University.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Omer Chaudhry received Siddiqi at his office and congratulated him on the achievement. He encouraged him to engage actively at the forum and represent the university’s academic values with professionalism. He said the university encourages students to connect classroom learning with real-world challenges through research, critical thinking, and responsible civic participation.
Ali Raza Siddiqi told the Vice Chancellor that his interest in policy and civic engagement developed through academic work and class-based initiatives focused on critical inquiry and practical problem-solving.
He said that, as part of a class project, he addressed a letter to the provincial minister for culture and tourism, proposing measures for safeguarding Pakistan’s cultural heritage. He added that he later received a letter of appreciation from the chairman of the relevant standing committee in recognition of the initiative.
In 2025, Siddiqi expanded his focus toward international cooperation at the International MOIC Summit held at the Prime Minister’s Office, where he contributed to policy frameworks for OIC member states on climate governance, digital security, and economic resilience.
Meanwhile, Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Programme Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan also appreciated Siddiqi’s selection for the global forum and said the government remains committed to supporting talented youth. He said young Pakistanis who demonstrate competence and clarity of thought should be facilitated to represent the country at international platforms.
