A total of 192 staff members of GC University (GCU) Lahore, including 48 security guards, received their long-awaited time scale promotions on Friday. Education Minister Rana Sikander Hayat and Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shazia Bashir handed over the promotion letters to employees, acknowledging their patience and perseverance.
"These promotions have been pending for several years, and it is a great joy to see our dedicated staff finally receive the recognition they deserve," Dr. Bashir stated.
Paying the rightful their due removes anxiety from the society, said Vice Chancellor emphasizing the timely implementation of these promotions before the upcoming Eid festivities has added to the celebratory spirit among the employees.
Education Minister Rana Sikander Hayat also commended the promoted employees and reiterated the government's commitment to addressing such long-standing issues. "We promoted school teachers by giving a deadline of two weeks," he said.
The minister also announced future plans and collaborations, stating, "the Google team is coming to Pakistan, and we will invite them to visit GCU." He also announced cash award for GCU's Music Society.
Mazammil Mehmood, an Old Ravian and noted Educationist, praised the university's efforts to address the long-pending issue, noting the significance of timely recognition and reward in maintaining a motivated workforce. "There was no educational institution except the Government College Lahore where there are 54 active student societies. Coming back here today, all the memories are fresh," he remarked.
