Student Urdu Conference held at GCU

The Urdu Department of Government College University Lahore organized its first-ever Student Urdu Conference, dedicated to exploring modern trends in Urdu language and literature. As many as 24 MPhil students presented their research theses at the conference.
Minhaj University Dean Prof. Dr. Farukh-ul-Haq Noori, GCU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shazia Bashir, Dean Prof. Dr. Sultan Shah, and Urdu Department Chairperson Prof. Dr. Saima Iram addressed the conference.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shazia Bashir discussed GCU's holistic approach to education, emphasizing that it fosters the ethical, cultural, and creative capabilities of its students. She proudly announced that GCU had received a significant donation of one million rupees from the son of the renowned Urdu writer Anees Nagi. This donation is aimed at establishing a scholarship and a gold medal for Urdu Department students.
Prof. Dr. Farukh-ul-Haq Noori from Minhaj University praised GCU for its consistent focus on scholarly and literary excellence. He expressed his enthusiasm for the conference as a platform specifically tailored for MPhil students.
Prof. Dr. Saima Iram highlighted the Urdu Department's dedication to providing practical research opportunities for students. She noted that the conference represented a significant milestone in promoting advanced studies and research in Urdu literature among young scholars.
