GCU celebrates `Main Hoon Jahan Gard` by Farrukh Sohail Goindi

The Urdu Majlis of Government College University, Lahore jon Monday hosted a seminar in honor of the renowned author Farrukh Sohail Goindi's latest work, "Main Hoon Jahan Gard."
The event was attended by the GCU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shazia Bashir, and former Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Hassan Amir Shah.
The book not only recounts Farrukh Sohail Goindi’s extensive travels but also serves as a reflection on the societal and political landscapes of the countries he visited, presented through the lens of his rich and engaging narratives.
During the ceremony, faculty members and critics such as as Dr. Saima Iram, Dr. Iqbal Shahid, Dr. Saadat Saeed, Dr. Khalid Mahmood Sanjrani, and Dr. Naseem Shahid shared their insights on the book, which features tales from various countries, spanning over four decades. Dr. Farzana Riaz moderated the event.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Shazia Bashir highlighted Farrukh Sohail's contribution to literature, noting his impressive portfolio of fourteen books, emphasizing that writing travelogues is not an easy task. She appreciated his ability to engage students with books through his vivid recollections of journeys across Iran, Turkey, and Bulgaria.
Dr. Khalid Mahmood Sanjrani praised the author for masterfully presenting tales of bygone times.
Professor Iqbal Shahid described the travelogue as "exquisitely beautiful," while Professor Hassan Amir Shah commented on the importance of learning from Goindi's experiences, mentioning that the book also delves into political aspects and speaks of revolutions.
Farrukh Sohail shared his personal journey, beginning from Government College, Lahore, and expressed his hope that his exploration of the political and public dimensions of the three countries would provide readers with deep insights.
