Biography
Tahir Ali Sadiq (b. 1989) is a visual artist based in Lahore. He is an Old Ravian of Government College University who earned his MA in Visual Arts in 2023 and BFA in Fine Arts, specialising in Miniature Painting, from the National College of Arts, Lahore, in 2012. Sadiq has received the Governor of Punjab Award (2021) and the Haji Sharif Prize in Miniature Painting from the National College of Arts, Lahore. Sadiq’s miniature painting Carving Me Out was featured on the See.Me Gallery (NYC) website in July 2013. His works are held in notable collections, including Vincent Van Gogh’s Bedroom (Mr. Michael Houlgate, Area Director, British Council Pakistan), Queen of Hearts & King of Spades (Professor Salima Hashmi, artist and former principal of the National College of Arts, Lahore), and My Alma Mater, The National College of Arts, Lahore (Mr. Imran Qureshi, visual artist and art educationist). His painting of the National College of Arts, Lahore, was published in Harper’s Magazine (NYC) in October 2015 alongside the article Pakistan in Miniatures by Sage Mehta. Sadiq participated as a visual artist in both MAKTAB projects curated by Imran Qureshi, including the inaugural Lahore Biennale Foundation in 2018. The project was a collaboration between the Aga Khan Museum (Toronto), the National College of Arts (Lahore), and the QUAD Museum (Derby, UK) in 2019. Sadiq also participated in the Inaugural edition of the NCA Triennale 2025. Sadiq has been teaching since 2013.
