Biography

I am Dr. Syeda Shahida Batool, Professor of Psychology at Government College University Lahore. I earned my PhD in Applied Psychology and completed my Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Sussex, UK, funded by HEC. I have supervised 17 PhD scholars and more than 150 MPhil and BS research theses, and many of my students are now serving as academics, researchers, and practitioners across Pakistan.

As Chairperson of the Department (2016–2020), I focused on academic excellence, research culture, mentorship, and community engagement. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I initiated and led the Punjab Mental Health Helpline, providing nationwide psychological support during a time of crisis. I have also conducted numerous national trainings, academic workshops, and seminars for faculty development, research capacity building, and emotional intelligence in leadership.

I currently serve as the Additional Secretary General of the Pakistan Psychological Association and am an active member of international professional bodies including APA and IAAP. I frequently participate in national and international conferences as a keynote speaker, session chair, and panelist.

My professional contributions have been recognized through several honors, including the HEC Best Researcher Award, Best University Teacher Award, Outstanding Research Paper Award, Post-Doctoral Fellowship Award, and the Pride of the Nation Award. I remain committed to advancing psychology as a discipline.
