Biography

Dr. Gohar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from the University of the Punjab and an MPhil and PhD in Biotechnology from the Institute of Industrial Biotechnology, Government College University Lahore. Part of his doctoral research was conducted at the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, University of Sydney, Australia. He has served as Lecturer at the University of Lahore and Assistant Professor at Riphah International University, and is currently Assistant Professor at the Institute of Industrial Biotechnology, Government College University Lahore. Dr. Gohar supervises five PhD candidates and has supervised more than 40 MPhil research projects in biotechnology and pharmacy. He has completed two funded research projects supported by ORIC-GCU and the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. With over 45 publications in national and international journals, he is also a reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals. His research interests include bioactive compounds from microbial and plant sources. He is guest editor of two special issues of the journal Molecules, has been associated with Biologia Pakistan, and received Mevlana Exchange Program funding from Uşak University, Turkey.
