Biography

Dr. Naila Malkani is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Zoology at GC University, Lahore, where she contributes to both teaching and advanced biological research. She earned her highest degree, a Ph.D. in Vascular Biology, from the prestigious Medical University of Vienna, Austria. Dr. Malkani's primary research interests are highly interdisciplinary, focusing heavily on Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Cancer Biology, and Genetics. Her work involves advanced laboratory techniques including Molecular Cloning, Microarrays, Animal Cell and Tissue Culture, and DNA Sequencing.
Dr. Malkani has a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals, addressing critical areas of human health and fundamental science. Her notable contributions include research on the mechanistic insights into protein import, the application of novel copper nanoparticles for anticancer and bactericidal activity, and epidemiological assessments focusing on the burden of oral cancer in Pakistan.
In addition to her faculty role, Dr. Malkani serves the academic community as the Managing Editor of the Journal of Biological Sciences and Public Health (JBSPH) and acts as the faculty advisor for the Disease Awareness and Prevention Society at GC University, Lahore.
