Biography

Dr. Irfana Liaqat is an Assistant Professor at GC University, Lahore. She further strengthened her research expertise through a one-year research tenure at Yale University, USA, where she gained hands-on experience with advanced scientific methodologies and international collaborative research. Her research focuses on the complex interactions among genetics, endocrinology, metabolism, and reproductive health, with particular emphasis on PCOS, metabolic syndrome, obesity, diabetes mellitus, and endometriosis. These disorders are major global public health challenges that adversely affect fertility, metabolic health, and women's quality of life. Her long-term goal is to bridge fundamental and translational research to develop evidence-based strategies for the prevention, diagnosis, and management of these diseases. By integrating genetics, endocrinology, physiology, bioinformatics, artificial intelligence, and systems biology, she aims to advance precision medicine and improve healthcare outcomes. Her recent research has expanded into nanobiotechnology, focusing on nanoparticle-based drug delivery, biomarker discovery, biosensing, and targeted therapeutics for reproductive and metabolic disorders. Her vision is to establish an interdisciplinary research program that integrates reproductive biology, molecular genetics, endocrinology, bioinformatics, and nanobiotechnology to address critical challenges in women's health and promote innovative, translational solutions.
