Biography

I, Dr. Muhammad Jahangir holding a Ph.D. degree (2002) in Natural Product Chemistry from the HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry, University of Karachi, and has acquired Postdoctoral Research experience (2012) in Synthetic Organic Chemistry at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, USA.
Since my M.Sc. I have been involved in applied research and analysis. My M.Sc. research was focused on development of a bio-analytical method while in Ph.D., I concentrated on the structural activity relationship of various natural products derived from medicinal plants, synthesize new derivatives and evaluate them. Postdoctoral research in USA was focused on new drug development against HCV and Dengue viruses.
My professional journey began in 2001 with Qarshi, where I played a pivotal role in establishing ISO 17025 accredited laboratories.
In 2007, I joined GC University Lahore, where I taught organic and analytical chemistry. In addition to teaching, I was responsible for maintaining and operating analytical instruments in the department and providing analytical services for external organizations, such as Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital, focused on drug analysis and evaluation of APIs.
More than 100 graduate and undergraduate while five Ph.D. students have completed research under my supervision.
