Biography

Dr. Muhammad Arshad Raza is a prominent figure in the Department of Chemistry at Government College University (GCU), Lahore, where he is recognized for his dynamic contributions to research, teaching, and academic leadership. A PhD graduate in Inorganic Chemistry from GCU Lahore (2018), Dr. Raza has built a strong research portfolio spanning organometallic chemistry, nanotechnology, and green chemistry.
His work on biopolymer-derived hydrogels, smart stimuli-responsive materials, and eco-friendly nanoparticle synthesis has opened new directions in both biomedical and environmental chemistry. With a proven track record of mentorship, he has guided more than 60 students at the PhD, MPhil, and BS levels, nurturing a new generation of researchers.
Beyond his scholarly achievements, Dr. Raza plays several key administrative roles within the department, serving as Research Laboratory In charge, Prospectus Coordinator, and Chemical Store In charge. His expertise also extends nationally, where he contributes to higher education policy as a member of the HEC Curriculum Development Committee.
