Biography

Dr Muhammad Usman Asghar is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Public Policy and Governance, at Government College University, Lahore Pakistan. He holds PhD in Peace and Conflict Studies, with research focus on the analysis of religiously constructed narratives and their use (abuse) in the domain of national security policy. He carried out his doctoral research stay at Radboud University, Netherlands. He has also attended Johns Hopkins University, USA for a graduate level course on Conflict Management. He has served as a researcher in a leading think tank of Pakistan Armed Forces at National Defence University, Islamabad. He was awarded a research grant by Creative Learning, USA for research on community resilience in Pakistan.
