Biography
Dr. Kalyan Singh Kalyan is an Assistant Professor of Punjabi at Government College University Lahore and a distinguished scholar in the field of Punjabi Language and Literature, holding a PhD in Punjabi from University of the Punjab; born in Nankana Sahib, he is notably recognized as the first Pakistani Sikh to earn a PhD, with his doctoral research focusing on the life and teachings of Guru Nanak, and he has made significant contributions to the promotion of Punjabi language—particularly the Gurmukhi script—through teaching, research, and the development of instructional materials, while also representing a strong example of academic excellence, interfaith harmony, and minority representation in Pakistan’s higher education system.
