Biography
Dr Saima Jabeen is a distinguished academician, researcher, and expert in Linguistics and TESOL, currently serving as the In-charge, Department of Linguistics and Language Studies at Government College University (GCU), Lahore. She holds a PhD in Education and an MS in TESOL from Lahore College for Women University, complemented by an MA in English Literature from the University of the Punjab. Her doctoral research focused on evaluating the impact of English Language Teacher Education Programmes in Pakistan, reflecting her commitment to institutional quality and pedagogical efficacy. Her research portfolio is diverse with numerous publications in W, X, and Y-category journals. She secured certification in Information Technology by Cambridge University, UK. Her tenure at GCU Lahore began in 2007, where she rose from Lecturer to Assistant Professor in 2016. Her leadership roles are extensive, including serving as the Coordinator for the Internship Programme and the Masters in English Language Teaching (2011–2017). She has been instrumental in the university's administrative and creative sectors as Editor, GCU Prospectus and a member of the GCU Press Team. As a member of HEC’s National Curriculum Review Committee 2023 and 2025, Dr Jabeen has played a vital role in designing and reviewing national MS and BS programmes in Linguistics and Literature.
