Biography

Dr. Khurram Chohan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography at Government College University Lahore, Pakistan. He holds a PhD in Geomatics from the College of Earth and Environmental Sciences, University of the Punjab, Lahore, completed in 2023. He has been serving in the Department of Geography since March 2010, contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research, and student supervision.

His academic and research expertise includes Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing, Geomatics, fluvial geomorphology, river morphology, flood monitoring, and environmental assessment. His research focuses on applying geospatial technologies, satellite-based Earth observation, and advanced spatial analysis to investigate river morphological changes, flood dynamics, sediment-related processes, and river restoration.

He is particularly interested in integrating GIS, Remote Sensing, and Google Earth Engine for monitoring river systems, assessing flood-induced environmental changes, and supporting disaster risk reduction and sustainable river management. Through teaching, research, and supervision, he aims to promote innovative geospatial methodologies and contribute to addressing contemporary environmental and geographical challenges in Pakistan and beyond.
