Biography

Dr. Muhammad Kashif Ali Shah earned his PhD in Statistics from Thammasat University, Thailand, in December 2016. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics at Government College University (GCU), Lahore, where he also holds the position of Coordinator for the MPhil Statistics Program.
Dr. Shah began his academic career at GCU Lahore in September 2004 as a Research Assistant on a contractual basis. In 2005, he was appointed as a Teaching Assistant for one year, followed by a temporary Lectureship in 2006 due to his commendable performance in teaching. In July 2007, he was selected as a regular Lecturer by the university’s Selection Board. In pursuit of advanced studies, Dr. Shah joined Thammasat University in May 2012 for his doctoral research. With over 21 years of experience in teaching and research, he has contributed extensively to both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. He has served as visiting faculty for various disciplines including Management Studies, International Relations, Political Science, Economics, Commerce and Finance, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Forensic Chemistry, and Computer Science. Dr. Shah specializes in the development and application of preliminary test and Stein-type shrinkage estimation strategies for diverse probability models. He has published 12 research papers in reputable national and international journals and actively serves as a reviewer for several journals including Statistical Paper etc.
