Biography

Dr. Amina Shahzadi is a dedicated academic, currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Government College University (GCU) in Lahore, Pakistan. With a career spanning over 20 years, she has established herself as a passionate educator, and an active contributor to the academic community.
Her academic foundation is marked by excellence, beginning with a Gold Medal in her MSc from the University of the Punjab. She further distinguished herself by earning a PhD in Statistics from the University of Otago, New Zealand, supported by a prestigious University of Otago Doctoral Scholarship. Her doctoral research focused on developing sophisticated "Hidden Markov models for time-inhomogeneous and incompletely observed point processes," a specialization she continues to advance through ongoing research and publications in renowned journals. During her doctoral studies, she honed her teaching skills by serving as a Tutor and Demonstrator for first-year statistics courses at the University of Otago, guiding students through foundational concepts and practical applications.
As an educator, Dr. Amina has enriched the minds of countless students, teaching a wide range of graduate and post-graduate courses, including Stochastic Processes, Distribution Theory, and Statistical Inference, Biostatistics. Her commitment extends beyond the classroom through the dedicated supervision of numerous MPhil and BS research theses.
