Dr. Tousif Hussain is a tenured Associate Professor of Physics at the Center for Advanced Studies in Physics (CASP), Government College University Lahore, Pakistan. He obtained his Ph.D. in Physics from GCU Lahore in 2012, where his research focused on plasma–based synthesis of thin films. He also served as a Research Associate at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada (2010),gaining advanced experience in experimental plasma and materials characterization.
Dr. Hussain has over 15 years of academic and research experience, publishing 90+ peer-reviewed papers in high-impact journals with 1,800 citations (h-index 21). His research interests span experimental plasma physics, nano materials, thin-film coatings, photocatalysis, and electrochemical energy storage devices.
He established and currently heads several laboratories at CASP, including the Experimental Plasma Lab, Energy Storage & Conversion Lab, FTIR, and Plasma Processing Labs. His notable achievements include the indigenous development of a DC/RF Magnetron Sputtering System (3-inch target) and successful collaboration with King Saud University, Islamic University of Madinah (Saudi Arabia)and SKKU (Korea).
As an HEC-approved Ph.D. supervisor, he has supervised 5 Ph.D. and 25 M.Phil. theses and is presently guiding Ph.D. and M.Phil. and BS research students. His academic vision emphasizes indigenous research, applied materials science, and sustainable energy technologies.
