Biography

Dr Uzma Hanif is working as an Associate Professor and Chairperson at the Department of Botany, Government College University (GCU) Lahore, Pakistan. She has consistently demonstrated excellence in teaching, research, and academic leadership throughout her Academic career. With a deep commitment to academic development and scientific advancement, she has supervised more than 85 undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, guiding young scholars in diverse areas of plant sciences, and published more than 90 research articles nationally and internationally with an H-index 18 and an impact factor of over 150. She successfully initiated the BS Biology program for the first time in the 112-year history of the Department—an achievement that reflects her foresight, innovation, and dedication to institutional growth. She also holds the distinction of being the founding Chief Editor of the Ravian Journal of Plant Sciences, a research publication of GCU Lahore, Pakistan. She secured First position in her MSc and awarded with a Gold Medal and Academic Role of Honor in 2005. She did her M.Phil. with a merit Scholarship in 2007. She also won the Research Incentive Awards for the years 2009 to 2025 consecutively. She attended and presented papers and posters in various national and International conferences. She also had a chance to visit and interact with the scientists from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, KSA, Portugal, Germany, France and Switzerland
