Defence Day Anthem `Manzil Pakistan` spotlights GCU Campus, Alumni Talent

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has released its official anthem for Defence and Martyrs’ Day 2026, titled ‘Manzil Pakistan’, prominently featuring the historic Government College University (GCU) campus and the creative contributions of its alumni.

The musical tribute, performed by a distinguished trio of singers, centres on the themes of Rast (the path) and Manzil (the destination). The song honours the sacrifices of the armed forces and celebrates the collective resolve of the Pakistani nation in overcoming challenges. It emphasises the unbreakable bond between the military and the general public, calling on citizens to make the progress and stability of the country their ultimate goal.

A significant portion of the official music video was shot on the premises of GCU. Adding to the academic institution's involvement, the visual production was spearheaded by former and current students of the university.

The video was directed and edited by Old Ravian Waleed Akram, with cinematography by Umer. Furthermore, several other Old Ravians and current students participated in the project as artists and production crew members.

The university administration expressed pride over the alumni’s involvement in the national project, stating that the campus community holds deep respect for the armed forces. The execution of such a major national tribute by former students reflects the institution's enduring legacy in the fields of arts, media, and broadcasting.

The anthem is currently being broadcast across national television and radio channels, as well as digital platforms, as part of the nationwide Defence and Martyrs’ Day commemorations.
