Free eye camp held at GCU Lahore

A free eye camp was organised at Government College University Lahore by the university’s Al-Falah Society in collaboration with Al Mustafa Welfare Trust, attracting a large number of students and faculty members.
A team of eye specialists conducted screenings using modern diagnostic equipment. Free medicines and eyeglasses were also provided to deserving students and staff members.
Registrar Dr Shoukat Ali, Nusrat Saleem, Managing Director of Al Mustafa Pakistan, and Khalid bin Aslam, Medical Superintendent of the organisation’s eye hospital, were present on the occasion.
In his message, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Omer Chaudhry said such welfare-driven activities help cultivate empathy and a sense of social responsibility among students, and also appreciated the trust’s services in community eye care.
Khalid bin Aslam said the trust’s eye-care efforts had expanded significantly over the years. Al Mustafa Pakistan says it has carried out over 252,000 free cataract surgeries since 2010.
