Two-Day All Pakistan Literary Festival Concludes at GCU Lahore

The second two-day All Pakistan Literary Festival, organized by Majlis-e-Iqbal at Government College University Lahore in memory of renowned poet Nasir Kazmi, concluded with enthusiastic participation from students across the country. The festival received more than 300 literary submissions from various universities nationwide.
The two-day event featured poetry competitions, bait bazi, academic sessions, workshops, panel discussions, a Punjabi theatre performance, a ghazal evening, a documentary screening, and the annual poetry symposium.
On the first day, multiple competitions were held, along with a special interactive session with noted journalist Meh Para Safdar. The ghazal evening captivated the audience with performances by prominent vocalists. Punjab University secured the team trophy by winning the highest number of positions.
The second day opened with a panel talk titled “Let’s Talk If There’s Something to Talk About”, in which young writers discussed classical and contemporary literature. Punjab University also won the final round of the bait bazi competition. Theatre Republic, under the direction of Farooq Pasha, staged the Punjabi adaptation of “Udeek,” which received appreciation from the audience.
A commemorative seminar on Nasir Kazmi highlighted his literary contribution and aesthetic sensibilities, featuring leading researchers and writers. In the “Face-to-Face Rubaru” session, distinguished poet and playwright Sarmad Sehbai participated as the special guest.
The festival concluded with the traditional annual mushaira, presided over by Dr. Khurshid Rizvi, where prominent poets from across Pakistan presented their work.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Safeer Haider, Convener of Majlis-e-Iqbal, thanked the participating universities, guests, and attendees, calling the festival a meaningful and successful academic and literary endeavor.
