The Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, Khazar Farhadov, on Thursday visited Government College University (GCU) Lahore. The ambassador was received by GCU’s administration, including Dean Prof. Dr. Babar Aziz, Chairperson of the Department of Urdu Prof. Dr. Saima Iram, Additional Registrar Dr. Shaukat Ali, Director of the Institute of Physics Dr. Nouman Sarwar Qureshi, Chairperson of the Department of Persian Prof. Dr. Babar Naseem Aasi, Director of the Shazli Center Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Naeem, Dr. Safeer Haider, and other faculty members.

During the visit, Ambassador Farhadov toured the Azerbaijan Urdu Research Center at GCU Lahore, and discussed prospects for expanding academic and cultural cooperation between Pakistan and Azerbaijan. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral collaboration in these areas. On behalf of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Omer Chaudhry, Prof. Dr. Saima Iram presented a commemorative shield to Ambassador Farhadov as a token of appreciation for his visit.
