250 Delegates Participate in GCU MUN

The Debating Society of Government College University (GCU) has hosted its third Model United Nations (MUN) conference, welcoming over 250 delegates from universities across the country. Six committees engaged in diplomatic debates on various global issues, formulating and passing several resolutions.
The conference saw participation from more than 21 prestigious institutions, including King Edward Medical University, Kinnaird College for Women, Forman Christian College, and the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences. Delegates from diverse backgrounds contributed unique perspectives, enriching the quality of discussions. Forman Christian College won the Best Delegation Award at the conference.
GCU Advisor to Students' Affairs, M. Siddique Awan, emphasized that GCU students have made a notable impact in the field of diplomacy. “In recognition of its legacy, starting next year, the MUN will be dedicated to GCU's first Muslim principal, Professor Ahmad Shah Bokhari, who also served as Pakistan's first permanent representative to the United Nations.”
GCU MUN Executive Director, Fatima Ismail, stated that GCU MUN provides a platform for intellectual exchange, fostering academic growth, critical thinking, and inclusive dialogue among students from various educational and social backgrounds.
