The Jones Physics Society of Government College University Lahore (GCU) recently hosted a seminar on the NASA Artemis Program, emphasizing the ambitious plans to return to the moon and venture onwards to Mars. The seminar featured a keynote address by Sir Mansoor Ahmad, a retired Associate Director from NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.

Prof. Dr. Shazia Bashir, the Vice Chancellor of GCU Lahore, also delivered remarks at the event held in the university’s Physics Seminar Hall. She provided insights into NASA's cutting-edge research and its achievements in space exploration. Sir Mansoor, known for his significant contributions to NASA’s Astrophysics Projects Division and leadership in the Physics of the Cosmos and Cosmic Origins programs, detailed the scientific efforts involved in lunar and Martian exploration.

During his presentation, Sir Mansoor discussed the challenges of deep space missions and the technological innovations developed under his guidance. He highlighted how NASA has recognized his work with multiple achievement awards, underscoring his impact in the field of astrophysics.

Prof. Dr. Shazia Bashir encouraged the students by highlighting the rewards of hard work and dedication in science and technology fields. "If you work hard, you too can achieve prestigious positions like our esteemed guest," she stated, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and commitment.
