The Government College University (GCU) Lahore has recently completed a new block at the Ruth Pfau Girls Hostel, increasing its accommodation capacity for female students.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Omer Chaudhry said the new block adds 79 more seats, raising the total capacity of the hostel to 282 female residents.
The hostel now includes 48 dormitories and 14 tri-seater rooms, along with a superintendent’s residence, dining hall, prayer area, visitor’s lounge, administrative offices, cafeteria, common room, and indoor and outdoor recreational facilities.
To promote sustainability, the facility has been equipped with a 100 kV solar power system, making it a green building, while the University's 250 kVA generator ensures uninterrupted power supply.
With these additions, the Ruth Pfau Girls Hostel is now fully functional, providing modern amenities and a secure residential environment for GCU’s female students.
