Biography

Dr. Hafiz Sfarish Ali hails from Shakargarh, Narowal, and began his education at a village primary school before completing Hifz al-Qur’an in 1998. He earned the eight-year Al-Shahadah al-‘Alamiyyah from Jamia Naeemia, Lahore (2006), alongside Matriculation (2002), Intermediate (2004), and B.A. (2006). He completed an M.A. in English Literature (2009), followed by an M.A. (2013) and MPhil (2015) in Islamic Studies from GC University Lahore, where his MPhil research examined Dr. Abdel Haleem’s The Qur’an: A New Translation. He served as an Elementary School Teacher (2009–2015) before joining the Higher Education Department as Lecturer in Islamic Studies, first at Govt. Degree College Muridke (2015) and then at GC University Lahore (2016), where he currently teaches. He completed his PhD in 2024 with a dissertation on Arthur Jeffery’s studies on the Qur’an’s textual criticism. His area of research is the Quran, Orientalism and comparative religious ethics. He has published his research in different national and international journals.
