Students of Government College University (GCU) swept the BISE Lahore Intermediate annual examinations, securing seven top positions and dominating both overall and group-wise standings.

According to official board results, GCU candidates led the overall rankings. Syed Muhammad Mohi Ud Din clinched the overall first position across the Lahore board by scoring 1,158 marks out of 1,200, sharing the top slot with Mubashira of Government Degree College for Women, Islampura. Fellow GCU candidate Muhammad Ahmad Shoukat secured the overall second position with 1,157 marks, sharing the rank with Muhammad Zunair Amjad of the Punjab College of Science.

The university's academic dominance extended across multiple academic streams, with its candidates securing five group positions. Both Mohi Ud Din and Shoukat clinched the first and second positions, respectively, in the Pre-Medical group among boys. In the Pre-Engineering stream, GCU student Muhammad Ahmad grabbed the second position among boys with a score of 1,152 marks, while Syed Muhammad Murtaza Mehdi Naqvi achieved the second position in the General Science group for boys by securing 1,133 marks.

In the Humanities stream, GCU student Salman Khan achieved top honours with 1,090 marks, ranking first among boys.

Commending the students on their outstanding performance, GCU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Omer Chaudhry extended his felicitations to the high-achieving students, their families, and the university faculty. The vice chancellor stated that the sweeping victory of seven board positions is a testament to the students' relentless hard work and the faculty's unwavering commitment to academic excellence, adding that he expects the young scholars to continue bringing glory to the nation as future leaders.
