The Photography Club of Government College University (GCU) organised an exhibition titled “Focus on GCU” at the Minhas Art Gallery on Thursday to highlight the historic institution's architectural and cultural heritage.
Serving as the culmination of a recent university-wide photography competition, the exhibition celebrated the creative vision and artistic excellence of young Ravian photographers. The curated selection of images offered a comprehensive visual narrative of the university, reflecting the students' technical skills and deep connection with their alma mater.
The displayed works captured various aspects of both the Main Campus and the Kala Shah Kaku Campus, specifically featuring key architectural landmarks including the Main Building, Science Block, New Block, and Postgraduate Block.
Noted photographer and Old Ravian Zaheer Chaudhary inaugurated the event, and commended the participating students for their creative insight, unique perspectives, and dedication to the art of photography.
The ceremony was attended by GCU Photography Club Advisor Yasir Javed Doger, Club President Masooma Khan, cabinet members, and faculty from the Department of Fine Arts. The event concluded with an award distribution ceremony where shields were presented to the competition winners for their artistic potential and visual tribute to the university's enduring legacy.
