Mr Hassan Malik, a Ravian businessman, has donated rupees one million to the Government College University Lahore Endowment Fund Trust (GCU-EFT) for the scholarship of financially-challenged students.
Mr. Malik called upon Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Asghar Zaidi, and handed over the donation cheque to him, while Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Khalid Manzoor Butt was also present.
The donor expressed his wish to the Vice-Chancellor to initiate a Golden Scholarship from his donation in the name of his late uncle and former federal minister Mr. Malik Naeem. It was the second golden scholarship initiated by Mr. Hassan Malik, and it would be given to a financially-challenged student every year on merit.
Mr. Malik told the VC Prof. Asghar Zaidi that he was extremely indebted to his alma mater for his education, personality development and overall grooming and now it’s his time to pay back. He also pledged to provide more funding to the trust. The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Asghar Zaidi thanked and appreciated the generous provision for the deserving students.
